HELP, HOPE, SOLUTIONS Offering FREE Developmental Screenings

Please join us on August 7 and August 14 for free developmental screenings for children 18 months and up!

Developmental screening is a procedure designed to identify children who should receive more intensive assessment or diagnosis, for potential developmental delays. It can allow for earlier detection of delays and improve child health and well-being for identified children.

We can help you distinguish between age appropriate behaviors and behaviors that may be associated with skills deficits. Developmental screenings can benefit for all children but they are especially recommended for children who:

• Struggle with sitting and participating in small group activities
• - Are very particular about specific routines and get upset if those routines are interrupted or changed
• - Don’t explore their environment and prefer to sit and engage in solitary activities - Are overly focused on specific activities
• - Move quickly from one activity to another
• - Struggle with following instructions
• - Have strong attachments to a particular object or toy
• - Avoid eye contact
• - Are “late bloomers”

    Our curriculum is individualized and carefully developed to address the needs of children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorders (autism, Aspergeris, PDD, PDD-NOS), ADD/ADHD, Nonverbal Learning Disability, and other social, language and cognitive deficits. Together we can target a wide variety of needs such as functional language, independent and interactive play, cognitive processing, initiating and maintaining conversations and social interactions, fine/gross motor skills, self help and pre academic skills.

    Our staff is highly trained in addressing challenging behaviors in various settings such as home, community or school.
